摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on regulation of the gap junction protein connexin43 (cx43) and its functional correlate in junctional coupling by brain region heterogeneity growth hormone (GH) insulin-like factor I (IGF-I). In astroglial cells, cx43 is dominant connexin making up junctions. It noted that GH IGF-I have been shown to affect levels neurotransmitters brain, myelination, cognition. As glial cells express receptors for it hypothesized these hormones could astrocytic junctions cx43. The effects bovine (bGH) recombinant human (rhlGF-l) expression (GJC) are studied vivo vitro. secreted Insulin-like binding proteins (IGBFPs) vitro a high abundance associated with low response rhlGF-I results indicate effect may be mediated locally interactions protein.
