摘要: Seven ephemeral pools on the coastal plain of southern Brazil were found to be inhabited by three annual and 22 non-annual fish species. Two common species (Austrolebias minuano Cynopoecilus fulgens) exhibited clear seasonal dynamics, with appearance young fishes in austral autumn (May June) a decline abundance over cycle. The third species, Austrolebias wolterstorffii, was rare. No dynamics observed fishes. relative compared increased cycle, but they coexisted widely. size structure suggested presence single age cohort most though second registered one pool August, coinciding large flooding. Strong sexual dimorphism body C. fulgens throughout while no A. minuano. Female-biased sex ratios recorded both last sampling dates (in spring), not during first two winter). natural lifespan <8 months. Annual disappeared before habitat desiccation half pools, still present.
