摘要: This article reviews the attributes of human surrogates most commonly used in injury biomechanics research. In particular, merits cadavers, volunteers, animals, dummies, and computational models are assessed relative to their ability characterize living response an impact environment. Although data obtained from these have enabled biomechanical engineers designers develop effective countermeasures for occupants pedestrians involved crashes, magnitude traffic safety problem necessitates expanded efforts research development. makes case that while there limitations challenges associated with any particular surrogate, each provides a critical necessary component continued quest reduce crash-related injuries fatalities.
