摘要: Cycloheximide (CHX:1, 10 or 20 microg) was injected via indwelling cannulas into various regions of the rat brain and its effects on passive avoidance training were studied. Rats with microg CHX amygdala immediately after footshock exhibited amnesia for learning experience when tested 24 h. In contrast, animals at a site either in internal capsule only 2 mm above amygdaloid injection frontal cortex showed no retention deficit A quantitative examination protein synthesis halves 30 min unilateral demonstrated that total inhibited by less than 10%. Autoradiographic studies revealed this inhibition resulted from profound, highly localized areas adjacent to cannula. comparison regional patterns caused suggested might produce virtue effect amygdala. Control experiments had short-term retention, performance. Injection 12 h long-term retention. The observed impairment shown be dose-dependent as 1 without effect. addition, it CHX-induced did not result induction local seizure activity. These data show injections small amounts can deficient memory even though is slightly inhibited.
