摘要: Spatially extended Lyα sources that are faint and compact in continuum candidates for extremely young (107 yr) galaxies at high redshifts. We carried out a systematic survey sources, using deep intermediate-band imaging data taken with the Suprime-Cam on Subaru Telescope. Our covers field of view 33' × 25' redshift range 3.24 z 4.95, down to flux ~1 10-17 ergs cm-2 s-1. identified 41 sources. The distribution these shows this kind object is common early universe over surveyed range. objects have typical sizes ~10-15 kpc luminosities ~1042 ergs s-1. Follow-up spectroscopy made 7 showed our sample suffers from little contamination. All large equivalent widths emission line, all but one exceeding 240 A rest frame. suggest their emissions unlikely be due normal starbursts, possibly originate very galaxies. much smaller than two blobs (LABs) found 3.1 protocluster, spite larger volume. This suggests luminous like LABs rare clustered overdense regions.
