摘要: Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is an 84-amino-acid polypeptide that plays a key role in the regulation of ionized calcium and phosphate blood extracellular fluids. It binds to signals through G protein-coupled receptor, PTH-1 on bone kidney cells. The first 34 amino acids PTH determine its biological activity. Abnormalities secretion or action result hypercalcemia hypocalcemia; can have anabolic effects thus holds promise for treatment osteoporosis.
