摘要: The available plate-tectonic evolution models suggest that the deep ocean basins adjoining western continental margin of India have evolved largely due to break-up and dispersal India, Seychelles Madagascar blocks since Late Cretaceous. Mainly owing availability large number well identified magnetic anomaly picks, region from chron C28ny (~62.5 Ma) younger times is better constrained than preceding period its early evolution. Using constraints several recently mapped regional scale tectonic features, a plausible model for proposed in this paper. Around 88.0 Ma involved were their immediate pre-drift configuration where wide rift zone existed between Madagascar. Seafloor spreading Mascarene Basin commenced shortly before 83.0 Ma. A ternary system off Saurashtra peninsula formed 68.5 Ma, reached seafloor stage Laxmi Gop around 67.6 64.7 respectively. 62.5 ancestor Carlsberg Ridge center developed Plateau while northern ceased continued at very slow rate.
