摘要: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by marked heterogeneity in biology, expression, and response to treatment. The past decade has yielded considerable progress understanding the underlying biological mechanisms, characterizing earliest behavioral phenotype(s), developing evaluating effective treatments for ASD. This review highlights recent research advances genetics neuroimaging, as well novel psychopharmacological treatment approaches, arguing value of trans-disciplinary initiatives move field forward exponentially. Despite complexity, patterns are beginning emerge that can inform identification targets approaches. next generation major innovations ASD will involve collaborations across genetics/genomics, intervention science. Such efforts, currently under way, hold tremendous promise exponentially increasing our capacity understand mechanisms contribute emergence develop evaluate personalized interventions yield maximal impact meaningful way.
