A Comparison of Action Transitions in Individual and Collaborative Exploratory Web Search

摘要: Collaboration in Web search can be characterized as implicit or explicit terms of intent, and synchronous asynchronous concurrency. Different collaboration style may greatly affect actions. This paper presents a user study aiming to compare processes three different conditions: pair users working on the same tasks synchronously with communication, asynchronously without communication single work separately. Our analysis focused transition actions logged our exploratory system called CollabSearch. The results show that participants exhibited patterns under conditions. We also found is one possible sources for obtain ideas queries, between promotes their communication. Finally this provides some guidance range behaviors activities collaborative should support.
