Assessment of Prescriber and Pharmacy Shopping Among the Family Members of Patients Prescribed Opioids.

摘要: Importance Most prescription opioid misuse involves opioids prescribed to others—a form of diversion. However, few indicators diversion risk exist. Because family members can often access patients’ opioids, one such indicator may be the frequency with which prescriptions are filled by patients when their engaged in prescriber and pharmacy shopping (“doctor shopping”). To date, this has not been estimated. Objective estimate proportion fills for meet criteria. Design, Setting, Participants A cross-sectional analysis 2015-2016 claims from a national commercial insurer was conducted August October, 2018.
