摘要: Abstract Organic films with specifically engineered optical properties hold considerable promise for applications in integrated optics. Light can be propagated up to centimeter distances waveguides interact organic of thicknesses 1–5000 nm which are either deposited onto the waveguide or form guiding medium, depending on application. The potential advantage using materials is that molecules optimized their response, e.g. second- and/or third-order non-linearities efficient modulation, harmonic generation, all-optical signal processing etc. basic concepts optics, non-linear guided wave interactions, material requirements various and progress date reviewed.
