摘要: Summary We propose a design for building block of periodic cellular material that mimics the salient behaviors, superelasticity and shape memory, exhibited by memory alloys (SMAs). The comprises sinusoidal beam is anchored in supports made whose storage modulus decreases at faster rate with increasing temperature than beam. At low temperatures, moduli two constituent materials have comparable magnitudes exhibits stable configurations. can transition elastically from one configuration to other via snap-through response an external load. Above critical temperature, sufficiently such second becomes unstable, returns its first without any These responses result SMA-like behavior ensemble blocks.
