摘要: Understanding resource stakeholders' perceptions of condition and management is vital to the formulation efficacious policy sustain natural systems because agreement among stakeholders likely result in more effective outcomes. particularly important context coral reefs threats are often diverse options numerous, therefore be diverse. This study identified dominant discourses reef fish decline, increase, 119 fishers traders (herein middlemen) Solomon Islands, compared these current scientific knowledge. Discourses were then explored for themes that might improve understanding user perceptions. The findings suggest certain fisher middlemen align with causal links between human activity stock declines, many elicited strategies aligned recommendations. A theme emerged across decline was a dichotomy perception fishing economic affluence subsistence survival. increase support command-and-control approaches community-based management.
