摘要: Patients with appendicitis, diverticulitis, inflammatory and infectious colitis frequently present abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) of appendicitis diverticulitis are discussed in Chaps. 15 16, respectively. In many these patients, the nature pain is nonspecific CT usually initial radiologic test ordered for their evaluation. For radiologist, one most commonly encountered causes colonic inflammation idiopathic bowel disease. However, other conditions exist occur variable frequency. Some, such as pseudomembranous colitis, ischemic or AIDS-related seen a busy clinical practice, but others infrequently only rarely need imaging diagnosis. can assess wall its changes well those surrounding fat, mesentery peritoneum thus providing important clues to help make specific It also detect complications assist patient management. With multidetector CT, scan times very short, slices thin 1–1.25 mm be obtained contrast boluses optimized. This leads improved visualization changes. Therefore today, has pivotal role diagnostic work up follow-up patients colitis.
