摘要: The leukotrienes are important lipid mediators with immune modulatory and proinflammatory properties. Classical bioactions of include chemotaxis, endothelial adherence, activation leukocytes, chemokine production, as well contraction smooth muscles in the microcirculation respiratory tract. When formed excess, these compounds play a pathogenic role several acute chronic inflammatory diseases, such asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, bowel disease. An increasing number diseases have been linked to inflammation implicating potential mediators. For example, recent investigations using genetic, morphological, biochemical approaches pointed involvement cardiovascular including atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm. Moreover, new insights changed our previous notion reactions molecules that can fine-tune innate adaptive response. Here, we review most understanding leukotriene cascade emphasis on recently identified roles pathophysiology.
