摘要: Degraded or unproductive soils may require any number of physical, chemical and/or biological steps to bring about rehabilitation. This chapter focuses on a method encourage the natural engineering qualities soil dwelling earthworms assist improvement. Twenty years ago, Earthworm Inoculation Unit (EIU) technique was devised link cultivation selected species with direct introduction. Results have demonstrated that this can superior outcomes compared more traditional earthworm inoculation. Trials were mainly conducted reclaimed land, but results from agro-ecosystems also been positive. The EIU technique, though shown be effective, not explored as fully possible and warrants further exploitation.
