摘要: Abstract Schools of juvenile Pacific ocean perch, Sebastes alutus, at four coastal fiord sites in southeastern Alaska were sampled by trawling. Younger juveniles (ages I and II) over rougher substrate than older III-V); both age groups shallower depths adults. Lengths perch varied between within geographic areas, but the pattern variation was not consistent. The most important food items copepods euphausiids; younger fed more on euphausiids. Feeding activity minimal late winter early spring. relative strength year classes fluctuated widely. Some are shown to become demersal I, hypothesis a 2-3-year pelagic existence is rejected.
