摘要: Objective To examine heavy-resistance exercise–induced acute neuromuscular fatigue, blood lactate concentration, and muscle pain in elderly women with fibromyalgia (FM) healthy controls before after a period of strength training. Methods Thirteen FM (mean ± SD age 60 2 years) 10 64 3 performed fatiguing protocol (5 sets leg presses repetitions maximum) 21-week training period. Maximal isometric force electromyography (EMG) activity extensors concentration were measured during the loading. Pain was assessed by visual analog scale. Results The led to large increases maximal EMG muscles contributed improvement loading performance (average load/set) at week 21. The sessions typically applied experimental caused remarkable comparable decreases both groups. Acute exercise-induced increased similarly groups, level lowered period. Conclusion The improved high-load also seemed attenuate perceived pain. changes time course findings controls, which suggests typical process similar trainability FM.
