摘要: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine the extent which youth have ready access alcohol and immediate family influence affects consumption. Design/methodology/approach This qualitative descriptive exploratory study undertook semi-structured peer-group interviews with 20 participants from four New Zealand high schools. The centred on exploring “general” experiences related – but a focus “at home” parental role. Findings The confirmed that home unit was main source for most parents were common provision. Parents provided financial by giving their child money purchase it themselves through older members or friends. It also found used negotiation strategies consumer purchases alcohol. Research limitations/implications Youth frequently such as pressure tactics, exchange ingratiating tactics consultation family’s decision-making process into supplying them alcohol. Practical implications It important recognise role play “gatekeepers” readily allowing reasons doing so. Social implications Alcohol plays an part in many societies. understand how young people consume particularly when major consumption. Originality/value Many studies been conducted relation consumption. Very few, far we can tell, explore consumers’ perspective especially narrative perspective.
