摘要: A large number of clinical studies has described procalcitonin (ProCT) as a marker bacterial infection and good predictor disease severity antibiotherapy efficacy. Nevertheless, the mechanism ProCT synthesis remains unclear. The aim this study was to demonstrate potential production by peripheral blood mononuclear cells is case for cytokines involved in sepsis. In whole model, LPS (10 μg/ml) stimulation on samples from healthy volunteers (n=14) tested. Early (TNF-α IL1-β) late (IL-6 IL-8) were produced amounts contrast absence ProCT. Additional experiments with nitric oxide or detection intra-cellular (cell lysis, flow cytometry) had negative results. It concluded that not model. Data are still needed investigate cellular origin order better define its usefulness.
