摘要: Abstract Effects of subcutaneous administration vehicle, amphetamine (1 mg/kg) or nicotine (0.4 mg/kg, injected twice, 90 min apart) on extracellular dopamine (DA) concentration in the nucleus accumbens (ACC) and ventral tegmental area (VTA) Sprague–Dawley rat were studied using microdialysis. Experiments conducted at least 10 days following implantation guide cannulae, 2 h insertion microdialysis probes into guides morning each experiment. Probes perfused 2.5 μl/min several fractions collected every before after two test injections. Samples analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection for major neurotransmitters their metabolites. Significant DA release was observed ACC but not VTA. By classifying responses individual rats, three subgroups identified which exhibited more robust responses. Nicotine appeared to be acting as a modulator DA, increasing output if baseline
