Martensitic transformation in binary and ternary alloys based on the AuZn beta prime phase

摘要: Martensitic transformation temperatures have been measured in binary and ternary alloys based on the AuZn s’ phase, using an electrical resistivity method cold-stage optical microscopy. The third element additions were Ag, Cu, Mg, Cd, Ga, In, Si. Attempts to identify influence of factors such as degree long range order, electron concentration, atomic size, ionic electronegativity martensitic did not prove successful, it is apparent that rationalizations attempted by previous workers are general applicability. It concluded interplay several these considered affects elastic anisotropy, hence theM s temperature. Lattice parameters density measurements made slowly cooled showed phase exhibit a composition dependent vacancy defective structure zinc-rich side equiatomic composition.
