摘要: INTRODUCTION Facial paralysis (FP) has many functional consequences with a large impact on daily life. Although an association FP and depression been observed described in the literature, there are currently no large-scale studies to further validate this correlation. Our goal was determine whether patients become depressed at higher rate compared matched controls. METHODS We performed retrospective cohort study using MarketScan Commercial Claims Encounters Database by Truven Health. From database, all inpatient outpatient claims International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification diagnosis codes for between 2005 2013 were extracted. Patients younger than 18 years categorized as children those or older adults. subcategorized having history if preceding noted. each patient control database based age, sex, state residence. rates these controls conditional logistic regression.
