摘要: Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) are an accepted and standard way to identify data records entities, providing a necessary element in access, query integration. Identifiers.org is infrastructure that enables the generation (and resolution) of perennial globally unique URIs for life science data, independently where record actually stored. This system allows composition ’cool URIs’, based on providers’ accession numbers, which can be used efficient effective cross-referencing. We describe Identifiers.org, compare it with other pre-existing identification systems, highlighting additional benefits offers.
