摘要: Ion pickup by the solar wind is a topic of current interest. In situ observations and theoretical studies establish fairly good understanding physics ion-pickup process. weakly turbulent wind, hydromagnetic waves that are either intrinsic or excited newborn ions can lead to pitch-angle diffusion which be approximately described quasi-linear theory with without incorporating resonance-broadening mechanism due weak turbulence. According turbulence theory, do not form complete spherical shell distribution in time-asymptotic state unless wave field sufficiently strong. some cases only possess partial incomplete shell. When highly turbulent, direct interaction between fields result rapid scattering leading swift formation on time scale an ion gyro-period.
