摘要: Abstract Recent advances in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Web 2.0 technologies provide new ways of creating sophisticated applications that strengthen social interactions based on comments online maps, which have the potential to improve Public Participation GIS (PPGIS) practices. In this paper, we address promising approach analyze impact collaborative tools applied PPGIS urban planning actions. We develop a application through free, easy-to-use tools, consist mapping service, with eligible geospatial data layers, where users explore comment. A database stores contributions format supported by GIS. also set up prototype version Canela (Brazil), test its usability. The results showed it is valuable for engaging public. It could promote communication among decision makers more interactive straightforward way. Besides, easy understandable non-experts. may serve as tool any spatially-related issue involving community members context.
