摘要: The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in animal cells is an extensive, morphologically continuous network of membrane tubules and flattened cisternae. ER a multifunctional organelle; the synthesis lipids, secretory proteins, regulation intracellular calcium are prominent among its array functions. Many these functions not homogeneously distributed throughout but rather confined to distinct subregions or domains. This review describes structural functional organization highlights dynamic properties mechanisms that support positioning membranes within cell. Furthermore, we outline processes involved establishment maintenance anisotropic distribution ER-resident proteins and, thus, into functionally different subregions.
