摘要: In Motor Neglect (MN) syndrome, a specific impairment in non-congruent bimanual movements has been described. the present case-control study, we investigated neuro-functional correlates of this behavioral deficit. Two right-brain-damaged patients, one with (MN+) and without (MN-) MN, were evaluated by means functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) Circles-Lines paradigm. Patients requested to perform right-hand (lines-drawing) and, simultaneously, congruent or (circles-drawing) left-hand movements. task, MN- patient showed bimanual-coupling-effect, while MN+ did not. The fMRI study that MN-, fronto-parietal network, mainly involving pre-supplementary motor area (pre-SMA) posterior parietal cortex (PPC), was significantly more active than conditions, as previously shown healthy subjects. On contrary, an opposite pattern activation both pre-SMA PPC.
