摘要: SUMMARY Stochastic reconstruction is a technique to generate samples of random structures with prescribed distributional properties in the sense that certain their statistical summary characteristics match target values or forms. This can be used produce any wanted size for further analysis starting from small samples, which may even only lower dimensional, instance, when three-dimensional imaging techniques are not available. In this review we explain main ideas stochastic reconstruction, concentrating on most important case digitized binary media and particular emphasis stereological reconstruction.
