摘要: Do persons with electrosensitivity differ from individuals reporting symptoms exposure to mobile phones only? This is the main question addressed in paper by Rubin et al. [1] this issue. Previous provocation studies for electromagnetic sensitivity have found no differences severity of elicited active or sham fields [2]. Still, a strong perceived association between radiation and range nonspecific health complaints exists general public. The topic highly relevant on both an individual societal level. Electrosensitivity, alongside other quite similar functional disorders complaints, accounts significant public burden, including increased work absenteeism utilization [3], addition consequences such disorders. Thus, identifying subgroups high risk these adverse importance. study rather small scale, comprising 19 self-labeled electrosensitive compared 52 only phones, as well 60 healthy controls. Nevertheless, authors group few outcome measures. A methodological issues warrant further discussion. As noted authors, most important limitation its cross-sectional design, which obviously makes it difficult infer direction causality. For example, do negative affect personal concerns regarding cell phone cause
