摘要: Emerging technologies in radiation therapy computers and delivery systems allow surgically precise conformal treatment that was not possible with previous generations of equipment. The newest can compensate for tumor target motion as well shape dose distributions to conform precisely delineated volumes. These sophisticated now drive the development imaging modalities able generate equally high-resolution lesion-specific roadmaps are foundation these highly accurate plans. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is currently becoming a routine tool oncology because its combined benefits positron anatomic display. improved staging lesion delineation provided by PET, 3D display CT, allows better stratification more targeting. Additionally, respiratory-gated 4D CT PET/CT have been used simulation process therapy. Successful integration into planning requires an understanding how plans derived which patient receives therapy, dictate method image acquisition. oncologists, too, must understand technology adapt functional images based on intensities rather than pixels their targeting process. Modifications scanner room necessary reproducible position required planning. Although impact efforts outcome has yet be determined, benefit choice, due staging, less normal tissue exposure resulting quality life will likely promote gold-standard targeted therapies.
