摘要: This paper offers a normative analysis of the current negotiations on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) under United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change (UNFCCC). Drawing existing theories distributive justice, we seek to determine which interpretations equity are embodied in key proposals policy approaches REDD run up post-Kyoto climate agreement. Our indicates that whilst various characterised by different sometimes contradictory notions equity, it is ideas more consistent with neoliberal concepts justice tend prevail. The result despite abiding contestations controversies, emerging solutions for post-2012 regime looks very likely reflect commitment market-based governance. However, such might serve preferences powerful players, their effectiveness terms preservation, protection indigenous peoples sustainable community development remains extremely dubious. On broader note, our reinforces growing realization international arena not beyond pale moral arguments but rather governance global environmental change implicates elemental ethical questions regarding ways life human beings ought pursue.
