摘要: Abstract The purpose of this work was to characterize in detail the optical anisotropy formed during carbonization range coals used coking industry, ultimate objective being attain a better understanding process. Vitrains hand-picked from series and caking were carbonized various temperatures between 380 1000 °C. semicokes cokes so produced examined by polarized-light microscopy determine proportions different types developed carbonization. results demonstrated that normally grouped within one class coal classification system National Coal Board can lead which are significantly terms their anisotropy. process anisotropic development be explained generally loss volatile matter, variations viscosity plastic mass, distortion ordered phases pressure evolving gases. Differences behaviour as judged coke attributed differences ‘molecular-structure’ parent coal. In respect oxygen is considered primary significance.
