摘要: Methods for removing iron oxide and other accumulated corrosion products from metal surfaces in contact with aqueous systems, such as cooling water are disclosed. The method steps can be performed without requirement of system shutdown acidic conditions. methods comprise contacting the corroded surface an organic reductant/chelant inorganic reducing agent while pH is maintained within substantially neutral range about 6.5-7.5. Pyrogallol methyl gallate may used reductant/chelant.
