摘要: Vermicompost is an organic waste produced from earthworms that can enhance the soil condition and rich with essential plant nutrients, thus increasing produce quality shelf life. In this study, a one-year field trial was conducted to elucidate effects of vermicompost supplementation on composition bioactive compounds antioxidant activities pineapple (Ananas comosus var. MD2) fruits, compared control application chemical fertilizer. Based results, fruits plants supplemented fertilizer showed strongest radical scavenging properties against 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2,2′-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), followed by plants. Application also very high content chlorophylls β-carotene However, amounts present in are higher than vermicompost. Total phenolics Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) reducing power were lowest fruit extracts These results suggested cannot completely replace for production phytoconstituents but could be used as additional supplement reduce environmental pollution ensure agricultural sustainability.
