摘要: Entrepreneurial self-employment in Germany has undergone a strong upturn the last 20 years. The number of self-employed people rose by 40 percent between 1991 and 2009. reasons for this development are catch-up processes eastern Germany, structural change towards service sector, willingness among highly skilled, unmarried foreigners to enter self-employment. Furthermore, percentage women becoming involved start-ups increased substantially during monitoring period. decision take up generally pays off: after three years, 38 all entrepreneurs still being active market had higher income, while only 17 lower income than their former paid employment position.
