摘要: Abstract An expanding body of literature has highlighted the environment–growth nexus. However, is scarce on role environmental technologies and institutional quality in pollution. The present study aims to contribute existing knowledge by utilizing environment-related (ERT), (IQ), energy consumption investigate ecological footprints (EF) as a proxy for environment BRICS economies framework based Kuznets curve (EKC) theory. By using data from 1992 2016, long- short-term relationships are estimated through cross-section augmented autoregressive distributive lag model, mean group estimator, common correlated effects group. second-generation econometric tools indicate that IQ ERT negatively affect footprints, thereby implying reductions degradation. EKC hypothesis not validated, an increase economic activities causes Overall, should improve their institutions enhance investments achieve sustainable future. Findings robust practical policy implications.
