Stabilizing the stabilizer: group psychoeducation enhances the stability of serum lithium levels.

摘要: Objective:  To determine the effect on serum lithium levels of a psychoeducational program in patients with bipolar disorder. Method:  This is subanalysis data obtained from larger study efficacy group psychoeducation prophylaxis recurrences disorders. Data plasma were at five time points: baseline, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months. Serum who had received psychoeduction (psychoeducated) (N = 49) non-psychoeducated (N = 44) compared. Results:  Mean significantly higher more stable for group. Conclusions:  As changes level may be powerful predictor recurrence patients, addition to standard pharmacological treatment beneficial optimize and, thereby improve outcome.
