摘要: Binocular rivalry is the perceptual alternation between two incompatible stimuli presented simultaneously but to each eye separately. The observer’s perception switches back and forth that are competing for dominance. In studies, pictures of emotional faces (disgust happy) were pitted against other or with neutral expressions. Study 1 demonstrated (a) facial expressions predominate over expressions, (b) positive negative expression (i.e., positivity bias). 2 examined individual differences in predominance bias during binocular rivalry. Although was not affected by levels depressive symptoms, results diminished as level symptoms increased. These indicate individuals who report more compared their less depressed counterparts tend assign meaning faces.
