Membrane Association and Targeting of Prenylated Ras-like GTPases

摘要: The regulatory function of the Ras-like GTPases in diverse cellular processes, such as growth, cell movement, and protein trafficking, is critically dependent on targeting to proper membrane. Prenylation Ras, Rho/Rac, Rab GTPases, defined covalent addition isoprenyl groups cysteine residues near or at their carboxyl terminus, first necessary step that leads membrane binding these proteins.
