摘要: Abstract The purpose of this research was to evaluate in vitro assays and compare their efficiency accurate prediction the potential chemicals cause abnormal embryonic/foetal development. In were based on cultured murine preimplantation embryos a continuous cell line derived from bovine embryo. Preimplantation collected superovulated mice for 72 hr presence 10-fold dilutions coded compounds. embryonic development considered normal if hatched zona pellucida (with normal-appearing inner mass trophoblast cells) attached culture plate at end period. cells seeded 96-well plates, 24 control media, exposed 10- twofold test compounds hr, finally stained counted. inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) lethal (LC concentrations (m m that decreased or viability by 50%, calculated three model 10–12 (known developmental toxicants non-toxicants). concordance between vivo animal toxicity data 83 87%, respectively. These accuracies are similar those other available assays, assay has added advantage being simple perform economical (about US$100 per assay).
