摘要: Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn (Nymphaeaceae) has long been used as a traditional herb in Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Korean medicinal practices since prehistoric times flourishes today the primary form of medicine. This study reports for first time potent ability N. leaf extracts to inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced angiogenesis vitro vivo, well their antioxidant efficacy various scavenging models an analysis chemical composition. In vivo anti-angiogenic activity was evaluated chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) model using fertilized chicken eggs, human umbilical vein cells (HUVECs) by cell viability, proliferation tube formation assays, determining intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) vitro. The determined models, including total phenolic flavonoid content. composition GC-MS analysis, which revealed presence different phytochemicals. IC50 values DPPH radical activities water methanol were found be 1699.47 514.36 μg ml−1, contents 85.01 ± 2.32 147.63 2.23 mg GAE g dry mass−1 35.38 1.32 41.86 1.07 QA mass−1, respectively. (10–100 ml−1) exhibited significant dose-dependent inhibition VEGF-induced angiogenesis, HUVECs. this study, displayed inhibitory effects on angiogenesis. exerted effect formation, CAM vivo. Moreover, significantly blocked ROS production HUVECs, confirming possible mechanism.
