摘要: Abstract The conversion of barotropic to baroclinic M2 tidal energy is examined for a section the Mid-Atlantic Ridge in Brazil Basin using primitive equation model. Model runs are made with different horizontal smoothing (1.5, 6, and 15 km) applied 192 km × 183 multibeam bathymetry characterize influence topographic resolution on model rates. In all simulations, highest over near- supercritical slopes flanks abyssal hills discordant zones. From these generation sites, internal tides propagate upward downward as beams. most energetic tide mode generated 2, consistent dominant length scales slope spectrum (50 km). significantly affects amplitudes, domain-averaged rate from 1.5-km run (15.1 mW m−2) 4% 19% higher than 6-km (14.5 15-km (12....
