摘要: Strains of bacteria were obtained by anaerobic enrichment from feedlot manure pads and phenotypically characterized. Colonies had a cotton wool or hairy appearance. When cultures grown in liquid media exposed to drying atmosphere, they produced pellicle comprised cross-meshed array cells. on agar also spiral sheets cells held well above the surface. The strains Gram positive, according ultrastructural features transmission electron micrographs KOH solubility, but negative stain. 16S rDNA strain YEO5 was determined is 99·3% similar type Bacillus benzoevorans. inability our grow aerobically lack endospores differentiated them previously isolated B. In freshly broken pad material, white, coating surface appeared within few hours. We hypothesize that this due insoluble extracellular matrix material sp. avoid desiccation and, additionally, bacterial covering responsible for retaining odours material.
