摘要: In the wild, feral domestic fowls (Gallus domesticus) and their ancestor red junglefowl gallus spadiceus) typically spend at least 50% of time foraging for a wide variety plant (mostly leaves, seeds fruits) animal insects) food items (Collias Collias, 1967; McBride et al.,1969; Savory al.,1978). They are mainly herbivorous in adulthood, but increased consumption first few weeks life coincides with greater need dietary protein then (Savory, 1989). Their behaviour, like that other animals, consists series processes can be classed as appetitive consummatory (Manning, 1967). The involve walking, searching, pecking scratching ground, selection based on visual cues. Consummatory procurement insertion selected mouth, mandibulation (preparation swallowing), deglutition (swallowing).
