摘要: This study examined smallholder farmers’ perception about climate change and variability compared with the observed metrological data their adaptation strategies in response to perceived impacts of change. The multistage sampling method was employed select 358 rural farmers Hawzen Irob districts located semiarid highlands Eastern Tigray, northern Ethiopia. Moreover, areal gridded surface monthly rainfall temperature between 1983 2015 were collected from National Meteorology Agency results revealed that 98.56 92 percent a decrease annual rainfall. In addition, 87 90 noticed increased districts, respectively. Harmoniously, modified Mann–Kendall trend test confirmed decreased by 32.38 mm 121.33 mm during period analysis. Furthermore, mean statistically significant ( ) 0.40°C 0.39°C per decade analysis cognate perception. To reduce change, adopted various farm-level vary significantly two groups. Soil water conservation, planting trees, crop varieties, changing calendar, biological irrigation among dominant strategies, respectively, area. this provide baseline information for local governments, subsequent researchers, policy-makers terms strategies.
