摘要: This paper presents results from tests on nine reinforced concrete circular columns subjected to simulated seismic loads. All the specimens contained widely spaced steel spirals, while seven were retrofitted with lateral fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) wraps. A number of ductility parameters related curvature, displacement, and energy dissipation used evaluate effects FRP confinement. The showed that confinement effectively improved resistance but displayed different characteristics steel-confined columns. While curvature capacity a section increase an in confinement, displacement does not beyond limit. Lateral also significantly enhances flexural strength high axial is generally neglected by most design codes may cause unsafe shear design. procedure enhancement owing proposed.
