摘要: The Triassic record in the SE Iberian Ranges starts with two tecto-sedimentary units of continental origin Buntsandstein facies: and Canizar Eslida Formations. Formation always lies conformably on top it grades upwards into overlying coastal mud flats, traditionally assigned to Rot facies. In past, accurate dating was problematic because its character, absence datable fossil remains, lithological similarities Middle–Upper Permian rocks. Macroflora fossilised vertebrate footprints indicate an Anisian age (Middle Triassic). this work, we date basis a palynological assemblage. precise is essential order establish stratigraphical correlations other obtain palaeogeographical considerations rapid subsidence represented by sedimentary unit new NNE–SSE Middle rift developed eastern Iberia.
