摘要: Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the number skin punctures and volume blood removed for analytical purposes red cell transfusions performed in premature neonates. Patients methods: A case-control with a retrospective review clinical records. Data about samples gathered from nursery forms descriptive statistics were performed. Neonates less than 37 weeks gestational age, born our hospital between 1/1/1992 12/31/1996, studied. They divided into two groups: Group 1) Those neonates receiving transfusions; 2) control groups, which comprised next baby after each infant who underwent transfusion. Results: There 419 infants out 9,635 live newborns (4.3%). Of infants, 123 (29.3%) transfusion therapy. groups exclusions 105 1 group, or group 2. average 5.4 per (range 0-37). mean 26.3 cc 0-167 cc) 15.1cc/kg (birthweight). total 187, 1.8 1-12). transfused 43.1 20-146 cc). samples, percentage significantly higher group.
