摘要: Groundwater is the major source of fluoride toxicity in humans. The excess intake causes serious health hazards This study aimed to investigate groundwater contents and associated risks residents southern districts Punjab, India. A total 76 representative samples were collected across 14 Malwa region, Punjab then analysed for chemical parameters. Results indicated range 0.60–5.07 mg L−1. majority sites showed higher than permissible limit (1.0 mg L−1) as prescribed by World Health Organization. values chronic daily (CDI) and Hazard Quotient (HQFluoride) suggested high risk non-carcinogenic local due excessive consumption fluoride-rich groundwater. HQFluoride was estimated be ranges 0.29–2.41 (adult) 0.67–5.63 (children) all sampling locations, suggesting significantly limits (> 1). On basis results, area can categorized a high-risk zone fluoride-related problems needs attention order ensure safety residents.
